If you cannot find the NIST calibration certificate for a Monitor or probe in Temperature Monitoring, the device may not have been ordered with certification, the install may not be complete, or the certificate may have expired. This article covers what to check.
Before you troubleshoot
- Confirm you are looking at the correct Monitor in the Devices view.
- Confirm the Monitor is installed and reporting.
Causes and resolutions
The device was not ordered with NIST certification
NIST certification is specified when a device or probe is ordered. A device ordered without certification has no certificate to show.
- Confirm with your purchasing records or Kontakt.io whether this device or probe was ordered NIST-certified.
- If certification is required for your compliance program, order a certified replacement.
The installation is not complete
A certificate is tied to an installed, reporting device. If the Monitor or probe was not fully installed and assigned, its certificate may not appear yet.
- Confirm the Monitor is installed and the probe's serial number was entered during installation.
- If the probe serial number is missing, reconfigure the Monitor and enter it. See Reconfigure a Monitor.
The calibration term has lapsed
Calibration certificates are valid for a set term, typically three years. After that term, the certificate is no longer current proof of calibration, even though you can still download it.
- Check the certificate's calibration date against your compliance program's term.
- If the term has lapsed, recalibrate or replace the probe to restore valid certification, then download the new certificate.
If the issue persists
If a device was ordered with NIST certification, is fully installed and reporting, and its calibration is current, but no certificate appears, contact Kontakt.io support. Include the Monitor's Unique ID and the affected probe's serial number.
