Reconfigure a Monitor

Reconfiguring a Monitor changes its installation after the fact: its monitoring type, the Storage Unit or Room it is assigned to, or its probe or ambient sensor setup. Reconfigure a Monitor when you move it to a different Storage Unit or Room or need to correct how it was installed. You reconfigure a Monitor on-site with the Kio Setup Manager mobile app.

Before you begin

  • The Kio Setup Manager mobile app is installed on your mobile device and you are signed in. See Sign in to Kio Setup Manager (Temperature Monitoring).
  • Bluetooth is turned on, and your mobile device has an internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular).
  • You are within Bluetooth range of the Monitor.
  • You are assigned a Temperature Monitoring role with install access (Administrator, System Manager, or Facilities Manager) and the Kio Setup Manager installer role for your platform (see Temperature Monitoring user roles).
  • Any Storage Unit or Threshold Setting you plan to assign already exists.

Tip: Make sure Kio Setup Manager is updated to the latest version. Check for updates in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

Steps

  1. Open Kio Setup Manager and tap Scan.
  2. When the Monitor appears in the scan list, tap it.
  3. On the Actions screen, tap Reconfigure Device and confirm. Reconfiguring overwrites the device's current settings, including its monitoring type, install location, and probe or ambient sensor configuration.
  4. When the Paused Mode screen appears, tap Turn On Paused Mode, or tap Next if the Monitor is already paused.
  5. Update the installation: change the monitoring type, the assigned Storage Unit or Room, or the Threshold Setting as needed.
  6. For a Temp Monitor Pro, update the probe or ambient sensor configuration if it changed. For a targeted change that does not move the device or change its type, use Configure Probes or Configure Ambient Sensor from the device's Actions screen instead; both are Temp Monitor Pro only. The Temp Monitor Lite has no probes or separate sensor action, so use Reconfigure Device for any Lite change.
  7. Verify the readings look correct.
  8. Apply the configuration.

Result

The Monitor's settings are updated on the device and in Kio Cloud. The Monitoring view reflects the new assignment. After the configuration is applied, threshold alerts are held for the alert arming delay while readings stabilize.
