Configure probes on a Temp Monitor Pro

Configuring probes updates the probe assignments on a Temp Monitor Pro without changing the device's location or monitoring type. Use Configure Probes when you need to change which Storage Unit a probe monitors, update the Threshold Setting applied to a probe, or enter or correct a probe's serial number. A Temp Monitor Pro supports up to two probes, each assigned to its own Storage Unit and Threshold Setting.

This action is for the Temp Monitor Pro only; the Temp Monitor Lite has no external probes. To change the device's location, or to switch between Room and Storage Unit monitoring, use Reconfigure a Monitor instead.

Before you begin

• The Kio Setup Manager mobile app is installed on your mobile device and you are signed in. See Sign in to Kio Setup Manager (Temperature Monitoring).
• Bluetooth is turned on, your mobile device has an internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular), and you are within Bluetooth range of the Temp Monitor Pro.
• You are assigned a Temperature Monitoring role with install access (Administrator, System Manager, or Facilities Manager) and the Kio Setup Manager installer role for your platform. See Temperature Monitoring user roles.
• The Storage Units and Threshold Settings you are assigning already exist in Temperature Monitoring.
• The probes are physically connected to the device.

Steps

1. Open Kio Setup Manager and tap Scan.
2. When the Temp Monitor Pro appears in the scan list, tap it.
3. On the Actions screen, tap Configure Probes.
4. On the Configure connected probes screen, configure each connected probe. Next stays disabled until every connected probe is fully configured. For each probe:
   • Tap Enter Probe Serial Number and enter the serial number printed on the probe's label, then submit it.
   • Tap the Storage Unit row and select the Storage Unit this probe monitors. Confirm with Yes, Assign.
   • Tap the Threshold Setting row and select the Threshold Setting for that Storage Unit.
5. Tap Next when all connected probes are configured.
6. Review the summary and tap Confirm.

Result

The updated probe assignments take effect immediately, and the affected Storage Units reflect the new configuration in Temperature Monitoring.

If a probe is not in the list

If a probe does not appear as connected during configuration, confirm the probe cable is securely connected to the device before continuing. A disconnected probe sets the Monitor's status to Probe disconnected. See Troubleshooting: Probe disconnected.
