A Storage Unit Type categorizes your Storage Units, such as Refrigerator, Freezer, or Ultra-low Freezer. Every Storage Unit is assigned a type, which Temperature Monitoring uses for filtering and grouping in the Monitoring view and reports. Create the types you need before you add Storage Units.
Before you begin
- You are signed in with a role that can manage Storage Unit Types: Administrator or System Manager in Temperature Monitoring, or Company Settings Administrator in Company Settings.
Creating a Storage Unit Type is a multi-step wizard. The first step defines the type; later steps configure its statuses and attributes.
Steps
- From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Temperature Monitoring.
- Go to Settings > Storage Unit Types.
- Select Create Storage Unit Type.
- Enter a unique Name for the type, up to 35 characters. The Profile Type and Assigned Applications are system-generated.
- Select Next. The Status Descriptor and Attributes are optional.
- On the final step, select Create.
Result
The new Storage Unit Type appears in the list and is available when you create or import Storage Units.
Note: A Storage Unit Type's icon, color, and Status Group and Status Value definitions are managed from the matching Entity Type in Kio Cloud Company Settings. Deleting a Storage Unit Type requires the Company Settings Administrator role.
