When the same Threshold Setting needs to apply to many Storage Units (for example, after a policy update that changes the range for every vaccine refrigerator on a campus), you can assign it to all of them at once from the Monitoring view, instead of editing each unit.
Before you begin
- You are signed in with the Administrator or System Manager role.
- The Threshold Setting you want to assign already exists. See Create a Threshold Setting.
- The Storage Units exist. They can have Monitors assigned or not; if not, the setting takes effect once a Monitor is installed.
Steps
- From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Temperature Monitoring.
- Select Monitoring, then open the Storage Units tab.
- Use the filters and the row checkboxes to select the Storage Units to update. The Assign Threshold action stays disabled until you select at least one.
- Select the Actions menu, then Assign Threshold.
- Choose the Threshold Setting to apply.
- Select Review, confirm the selected Storage Units, then select Apply.
Result
The Threshold Setting is applied to every selected Storage Unit, and the updated configuration is sent to each Monitor. A unit may show Data out of sync briefly while the change is sent; this usually clears within a few minutes.
Important: On actively monitored Storage Units, the new range takes effect immediately. If a current reading is outside it, an excursion and alert can trigger right away. Confirm the Threshold Setting is correct before you confirm the assignment.
If a change does not sync
If a Storage Unit stays Data out of sync for more than 10 minutes, reconfigure that Monitor in Kio Setup Manager to send the configuration again. See Troubleshooting: Threshold change not syncing.
