Assign a Threshold Setting to a Storage Unit

Assigning a Threshold Setting gives a Storage Unit its acceptable temperature and humidity range. Until a Storage Unit has a Threshold Setting, Temperature Monitoring records its readings but cannot detect an excursion, because there is no range to compare against.

Before you begin

• You are signed in with a role that can manage Storage Units: Administrator or System Manager.
• The Threshold Setting you need already exists. See Create a Threshold Setting.
• The Storage Unit exists. It shows Threshold setup required until a threshold is assigned.

Steps

1. From the Kontakt.io Launchpad, open Temperature Monitoring.
2. Select Monitoring, then open the Storage Units tab.
3. Select the Storage Unit to open its detail page.
4. On the Main tab, select Edit.
5. In the Threshold Setting section, choose the Threshold Setting that matches the Storage Unit's required range.
6. Select Save.

Result

The Storage Unit now measures each reading against the assigned range. A reading that stays outside the range longer than the threshold alert delay becomes an excursion. The status changes from Threshold setup required; once a Monitor is installed and the Storage Unit is in an Alert Rule, excursions trigger alerts.
