This reference describes each Portal Light LED state, what it indicates, and what action to take.
| LED state | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Solid green | Connected to Wi-Fi, NTP time server, and Kio Cloud — operating normally | None |
| Solid red | Cannot connect to Wi-Fi or Kio Cloud | Verify Wi-Fi credentials and network availability; see Reconfigure Portal Light Wi-Fi network. Run a Portal Light diagnostic report to identify the specific failure. |
| Blinking | Booting or establishing a network connection | Wait up to 2 minutes for the LED to settle to green or red before troubleshooting |
| Off | No power | Check the power cable and power source. Confirm the outlet or PoE switch port is active. |
LED state after specific actions
| Action performed | Expected LED state |
|---|---|
| Wi-Fi credentials applied | Blinking → solid green (1–3 min) if credentials are correct; solid red if connection fails |
| NTP configuration applied | No LED change — NTP does not affect LED state directly |
| Certificate updated | Blinking briefly → returns to previous state |
| Blink command sent (Track your device) | Blinks rapidly for ~10 seconds, then returns to normal state |
| Device rebooted during log collection | Off briefly → blinking → solid green (1–3 min) |
