A Temp Monitor Pro is still flashing red even though its readings are back within the threshold range. (A Temp Monitor Lite shows the same behavior with its red LED.) The temperature recovered, but the device still signals an alert locally.
Before you troubleshoot
- Confirm the current reading is back within range in Temperature Monitoring — the Storage Unit or Room shows Online and the condition status is Back to normal.
- Check whether the alert is still open: an unresolved alert shows New or Acknowledged in the Alerts list.
Cause
A Monitor's local alert has two parts that clear separately:
- The audible alarm (Temp Monitor Pro only) is silenced when you acknowledge the alert in Temperature Monitoring.
- The visual red LED clears only when both of these are true: the alert is resolved in Temperature Monitoring and the reading has returned in-range. Until both are true, the LED stays red.
By design, an alert does not clear itself when conditions return to normal — a person must resolve it so the corrective action is documented for compliance. So when the reading is already back in range but no one has resolved the alert, the LED keeps signaling: the Pro keeps flashing red and the Lite's red LED stays on. Acknowledging silences the Pro's audible alarm but does not clear the LED.
Resolution
- In Temperature Monitoring, go to the Alerts list and open the alert for the affected Storage Unit or Room.
- Select Resolve, choose a Corrective Action, and add any notes your procedure requires.
- Confirm the alert moves to Resolved.
Because the reading is already back in range, resolving the alert satisfies both conditions, so the Monitor's LED returns to green. See Resolve an alert for the full resolution steps.
If the LED stays red after you resolve the alert
- The reading is still out of range. The LED stays red until the reading returns in-range, even after you resolve the alert — that is expected. Address the temperature issue, and the LED clears once the reading is back in range.
- The reading is in range and the alert is Resolved, but the LED is still red. The Monitor is signaling a different condition — for example a hardware fault or a second open alert. Check the Monitor's status in the Monitoring view and follow the matching procedure. If nothing explains it, contact Kontakt.io support with the Monitor's Unique ID.
