Synchronizing a Monitor reconciles the device with Temperature Monitoring and recovers the readings it stored while it was offline, so the Monitor and Temperature Monitoring match. Synchronize a Monitor when it shows Data out of sync or Not reporting for longer than expected, when a Data out of sync alert is triggered for it (the Monitor has not synced within the alert's 7-, 14-, or 21-day window), or when you need the readings it stored during a connectivity gap. Synchronizing recovers readings, it does not change the Monitor's configuration. To change the monitoring type, assignment, or Threshold Setting, reconfigure the Monitor instead. See Reconfigure a Monitor. You synchronize a Monitor on-site with the Kio Setup Manager mobile app.
Before you begin
- The Kio Setup Manager mobile app is installed on your mobile device.
- Bluetooth is turned on, and your mobile device has an internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular).
- You are within Bluetooth range of the Monitor.
- You are assigned a role that can manage Monitors and the Kio Setup Manager installer role for your platform (see Temperature Monitoring user roles).
Tip: Make sure Kio Setup Manager is updated to the latest version. Check for updates in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
Steps
- Confirm the status first. A Monitor that has just been installed or reconfigured may show Data out of sync for 5 to 10 minutes while its local configuration synchronizes with Temperature Monitoring. Wait that long before synchronizing manually.
- Open Kio Setup Manager and sign in. See Sign in to Kio Setup Manager (Temperature Monitoring).
- Find the Monitor in your device list and open its details.
- Select Synchronize Data to reconcile the device with Temperature Monitoring.
- To retrieve readings the Monitor stored locally, select the option to download monitoring data from the device.
- Wait for the synchronization to finish.
Result
The Monitor's local readings synchronize to Temperature Monitoring, and the Data out of sync status clears. Readings the Monitor stored while offline appear in the measurement history of its assigned Storage Unit or Room. If a Data out of sync alert was triggered for the Monitor, you can now resolve it.
