When you change a Threshold Setting (by reassigning a Storage Unit or Room to a different setting, or by editing a setting's values), Temperature Monitoring sends the new configuration to the affected Monitor. In rare cases the update does not complete, and the Storage Unit or Room stays Data out of sync longer than expected. The fix is to send the configuration again from Kio Setup Manager.
Symptom
One or more of the following:
- A Storage Unit or Room shows Data out of sync for more than 10 minutes after a Threshold Setting change.
- A Temp Monitor Pro's display still shows the previous threshold values.
- The Monitor evaluates readings against the old thresholds. For example, the Temp Monitor Pro's local alert does not activate when a reading is outside the new range.
- Alerts are not triggering against the new thresholds.
Cause
The change is saved in Temperature Monitoring but has not been received and applied by the Monitor's firmware. Connectivity, gateway availability, or the device's state can delay the update. This is an expected operational edge case.
Fix: reconfigure the Monitor
Reconfiguring sends the current configuration from Temperature Monitoring to the device again. You do this with the Kio Setup Manager mobile app.
Before you begin
- The Kio Setup Manager mobile app is installed and you are signed in.
- You are assigned a Temperature Monitoring role with install access (Administrator, System Manager, or Facilities Manager) plus the Kio Setup Manager installer role for your platform (see Temperature Monitoring user roles).
- Bluetooth is on, and you are within range of the affected Monitor.
Tip: Make sure Kio Setup Manager is updated to the latest version. Check for updates in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
Steps
- Open Kio Setup Manager and scan for the Monitor.
- Select the Monitor, then select Reconfigure Device.
- Complete the reconfiguration flow. Confirm the location, Storage Unit or Room, and Threshold Setting are what you expect.
- Apply the configuration and confirm.
The Monitor receives the current configuration, and the Storage Unit or Room status returns to its normal operating status within a few minutes. For the full reconfiguration steps, see Reconfigure a Monitor.
If reconfiguring does not resolve it
- Confirm the Monitor is online and reporting. If it shows Offline or Not reporting, see Troubleshooting: Monitor not reporting.
- Confirm the Monitor is not reporting a device fault, such as Probe disconnected. See Troubleshooting: Probe disconnected.
- Re-open the Threshold Setting in Temperature Monitoring, confirm it saved correctly, and wait for the Data out of sync status to clear.
- If it still does not sync, contact Kontakt.io support with the Monitor's Unique ID and the Storage Unit or Room name.
